Reclaimed Floorboards from Cox's Architectural Salvage Yard.

We try and keep reclaimed pine boards in stock but this is not always possible and so we re-mill Victorian joists and make floorboards this way. Antique elm & oak wide boards are increasingly rare and this is reflected in prices. As a substitute
we sell new oak floorboards up to 9" wide. These are kiln dried
and very competitively priced. From time to time we have
other floorboards.

Carriage Oak Boards

Reclaimed oak boards known in the trade as "carriage" oak,
having been railway carriage floorboards. Good dry, mature reclaimed oak boards having many applications including flooring, work tops, table tops, doors and so on. We have large stocks available exactly as reclaimed or in various stages of finish right through to aged oak floorboards ready to lay. Boards measure 2600mm long in random widths of 180 to 225mm wide.
(9' x 7" to 9"). Thickness as reclaimed is 44 - 48mm. Prices, samples and further photos are available. Please e-mail us.

Resawn Pine Floorboards
We take Victorian 9 x 3 and 9 x 4 joists and cut them into
planks producing nice, dry, characterful 8" - 9" wide x 7/8" thick
pine floorboards. No nails. Square edged. They look the
part and polish up nicely. Always available.

Reclaimed Pine "Cheese Board"

Wide pine boards known as "Cheese" boards as they were
originally shelving in cheese factories. Lovely Georgian colour. Available immediately.
Equally suitable for floorboards or furniture use.
Photo shows cheese board used as floorboards in our hardware shop. Treated with 2 coats of Danish Oil to give this colour.

Wide old oak floorboards are getting harder and harder to find.
Expect to pay £155 sq. yd. if we have any.

Antique oak floorboards are increasingly difficult to find so we offer kiln
dried solid French Rustic Oak Boards as an alternative.

Elm Floorboards Currently out of stock
Almost as scarce as antique oak, wide elm floorboards cost around £125 per
sq. yard for good boards, after sorting out the rotten and wormy pieces.
If we do not have quantities then we often have smaller pieces for use when patching an existing floor.
